The international competition of the SHAPE OF LIFE Film Festival presents eight documentaries that somehow raise environmental issues and problems related to the preservation of the natural balance and the right place of human in it.

The competition program includes films: "The Last Hillbilly" (France), "Leaving Paradise (Israel), "Silence of the Tides" (Netherlands, Germany), "Non Western" (UK), "Journey to Utopia" (Denmark, Sweden, Norway), "Holgut" (Belgium). Five films of the competition program will have premiere screenings in Russia as part of the festival. Russia is represented in the international competition by two films. One of them is "Shot of hope" from the founder of the documentary film studio "Yastrebfilm" Sergey Yastrzhembsky. The participant of the international competition is also a young permian Nadia Zakharova with her documentary project "Embankment" about the Zakamskaya embankment familiar to every permian.
